Refining

Ageing crude and vacuum towers, tight turnaround windows, and feeds that drift lighter every year. We help refiners recover trapped capacity — usually without touching the pressure envelope.

The duty

Capacity is usually locked in the trays, not the thermodynamics

Most refining columns were trayed for a design case that no longer matches reality. As crude slates change and rates creep up, the first thing to give is hydraulics — jet flood at the top, downcomer backup, off-spec overheads. The instinct is a new vessel; the answer is usually a smarter re-tray.

We rebuild the hydraulic model from your datasheets and live operating data, find the headroom trapped in old tray geometry, and manufacture drop-in internals — regardless of who supplied the original equipment.

NEW.Catalyst.Outlet.screen.Gray.1

Catalyst Outlet Collector

Catalyst Outlet Collectors gather gas or liquid leaving a catalyst or adsorbent bed and direct it towards the vessel outlet while retaining the bed media. High open-area screening provides an efficient collection path with minimal flow restriction, helping prevent catalyst carryover and protect downstream equipment.

Bubblecap Cartridge Trays

Cartridge Trays

Cartridge Trays are modular, pre-assembled tray systems designed to simplify installation and replacement inside process columns. Their compact construction reduces internal assembly work and makes them particularly useful for restricted-access vessels, small-diameter columns, and retrofit projects where minimising shutdown time is important.

NEW.Gas Injection Support Plate Copy

Catalyst Support Grid

Catalyst Support Grids provide the structural foundation beneath catalyst and adsorbent beds, carrying the weight of the catalyst and support media while maintaining a high open area for process flow. Grid and beam arrangements are designed to provide the required mechanical strength without unnecessarily restricting gas or liquid passage through the vessel.

Tray fouling in Sour Water Strippers and Distillation Towers

This animation shows how tray fouling develops, how deposits build up, and how severe fouling can lead to reduced separation efficiency, increased pressure drop, capacity loss, and operational problems.
