Simple Feed Introduction for Process Columns
Half Open Pipe Feed Devices provide a simple and robust method of introducing liquid or mixed-phase feed into a process column. The inlet pipe is partially opened along its length, allowing the incoming process stream to discharge into the column over a larger area rather than directly from the feed nozzle.
The open section of the pipe helps reduce the momentum of the incoming feed and directs the flow into the column while limiting direct impingement on nearby trays, packing, or other internals. Its uncomplicated construction makes the Half Open Pipe particularly suitable for services where a sophisticated feed distributor is not required.
The orientation, pipe diameter, open area, and position within the column can be selected to suit the feed rate, nozzle arrangement, available space, and surrounding internals.
Half Open Pipe Feed Devices can be supplied for new columns, tower revamps, or as replacement internals manufactured to suit existing vessel arrangements.
