Catalyst Outlet Collector

Catalyst Outlet Collectors gather gas or liquid leaving a catalyst or adsorbent bed and direct it towards the vessel outlet while retaining the bed media. High open-area screening provides an efficient collection path with minimal flow restriction, helping prevent catalyst carryover and protect downstream equipment.

Process Flow Collection and Catalyst Retention

Catalyst Outlet Collectors are installed within fixed-bed reactors and process vessels to collect gas or liquid leaving the catalyst bed and direct it towards the vessel outlet while retaining catalyst, adsorbent, and support media within the bed.

The collector provides a controlled flow path between the catalyst bed and the outlet nozzle. High open-area screening allows the process stream to enter the collector with minimal restriction while preventing catalyst particles or support media from passing into downstream piping and equipment.

Collector geometry is arranged to provide sufficient flow area across the catalyst bed and minimise localised pressure drop at the outlet. Depending on the vessel configuration and process requirements, the system may incorporate a central collector, laterals, screened pipes, headers, or other custom arrangements.

Mechanical strength is an important consideration, as the collector may be subjected to catalyst loading, pressure differential, thermal expansion, and demanding reactor operating conditions. Each Catalyst Outlet Collector can therefore be designed to suit the vessel geometry, catalyst size, process flow, outlet arrangement, and required screen opening.

Catalyst Outlet Collectors can be supplied for new reactors or manufactured as replacement assemblies for existing equipment.
